Ah, as I log in to start this rant, I’m invited by Google to test their new AI. Thanks, no. Wonder if the invitation will be repeated after this post.
Realized I needed to provide a little clarity with this blog, for the benefit of its dozens of readers and, as I imagine it, for choosing readings at my wake. Important to get those facts correct, probably.
Checking the visitor stats of this blog is a daily penance I’ve accepted with less humility than might be redemptive, since my craving for readership lingers in the air like a baseboard mold. Recently some reader has been looking at essays written eight years ago, when my political temperament was decidedly left leaning Christian. Since folks rarely leave a comment on the posts, I reread a few to see the impression they’d left. There I implored and cajoled in a voice barely recognizable to me today, so this morning let me set some things in order.
Let’s start with the big one. I like Trump. More exactly, though it tickles me to see that declarative sentence standing on its own, I like Trump people. We’ll wait while most of the audience files out. Still with me? Good, this is for you.
A huge swath of Trump supporters are fully aware of his very real flaws, lies and crimes, though some are true believers. What amazes me about the left is that they don’t ask themselves this question: What about our own agenda would be so repulsive as to make half the country cohere around a bombastic nihilist in reaction?
Since you didn’t ask, here are three reasons off the top.
Woke ideology is an attack on women. The claim by transgender terrorists that men can become women by self assertion is ludicrous on its face. To write that bizarre assertion into the law, allowing male criminals to experience post conviction gender dysphoria and be sentenced to female prisons should outrage everyone. It doesn’t, apparently. And that isn’t the worst of it of course, because gender terrorism has bullied school boards and sports leagues into compliance or cancellation by mob rule and social media. The result is an annihilation of Title 9, to all practical purposes. Men, human beings born with a penis, can invade any female space at any time, on whim.
Woke ideology is an attack on freedom of speech. Most repugnant of the ideas coming from the left is that any thought not aligned with its own must be shut down, every dissenting voice drowned out. Not just state colleges mind you, legacy law schools, including Stanford and Yale are regularly in the news for woke censorship. Both students and faculty conspiring to keep unwanted opinions from being expressed by invited speakers. They’ve also pulled off the neat rhetorical trick of claiming that any objectionable views, be it on abortion, immigration, Israel, be labeled white racism. Any person of color who speaks from a position on the right is branded a white racist, incongruously, but inevitably. Every facet of life is color coded in woke ideology. Which brings us to my perhaps surprising third objection.
Woke ideology is an attack on black people. The Democratic stranglehold–the perfect cliche–on the black voter is tragic. The barrage of race baiting on MSNBC and like minded outlets in woke social media give the impression of a seething racial animosity among MAGA folks that is simply propaganda in its cold war sense. The number of black and other POC in the ranks of Trump supporters will shock viewers of woke media. Those habitual MSM viewers will also not see the real effects of urban violence and crime. This is where the Democrats have crapped the bed.
Urban violence is completely out of control. Drug addiction, rampant theft, spontaneous mob mayhem, teen wilding in unprecedented numbers, tik tok murders. A handful of cities, St Louis, Memphis, Chicago, LA. etc have so many murders they drop the US in gun deaths from 3rd to 180th worldwide if their stats are removed. Black on black murders account for the vast majority of those deaths.
And what is the Democratic solution to this crisis? More money, ever more money, funneled into an existing and yet ever expanding system of graft whose only product is more iterations of, It’s The White Man’s Fault. Black people are victims of the oppression of the white patriarchy. Period. This message, perpetual black victimhood, is the ever full tit of the democratic cash cow.
I cannot urge readers too fervently to do the following. Check out the Youtube channels of conservative black content providers. They are expressing this message with the authenticity you’ll require on the topic. I am a white straight Christian male. Woke media reject my opinion out of hand. But please check out Coleman Hughes, LFR Family, Jason Whitlock, Royce White, Cartier Family, Modern Renaissance Man, Officer Tatum, That Black Catholic Chick, Devin Gibson,Nick Jones, Black Conservative Perspective, Jesse Lee Peterson, Dr Carol Swain. The fearless Candace Owens. The lion of evangelism Voddie Baucham. Most importantly of all, in the name of intellectual honesty, please immerse yourself in the deep deep waters of Thomas Sowell. A truly great mind, appreciate him while he’s still with us.
And here I shake myself out of my morning hunch-shouldered, sore necked, writing crouch, and do a brief reread of where we are. All about the deadline.
Okay, I see I’m wandering into open fields here. Will return later, I think. Have been in a rut, my poetic muse stuck playing tic tac toe. Feels good to write in whole sentences again. But I didn’t talk about the real life, beautiful, warm, sharp, humble, respectful, responsible, complex human beings I’ve met who are Trump folks. The multi-ethnic, anti-racist, content of my character people who make up the vast majority of his supporters. Made me truly ashamed of the idiocy I’m capable of. I also didn’t talk about the blatant attack on Christianity, but I suppose that was implied. Most regrettably I didn’t talk about AI in this post, so google doesn’t know I’m on to its tricks yet. Maybe next time. You know you can have a Chat GPT with Jesus? I wouldn’t try it without an exorcist on hand, but you’re free to risk it.
