Letter To Liberals Part 1

Hello Dear Friends, of the fast and former varieties, and those I’ll meet and irritate in the future.

What the fuck happened to you?

You used to be able to think for yourself; know I was there. You used to fiercely defend first principals, even as you admitted you cobbled them together yourself, from interior moral intuitions. For most of you, freedom of speech made the cut.

That is to say,that every voice must be heard.

Then why is it, that in 2026, that it is impossible for conservatives to convince liberals to engage in conversation?

Good faith conversation, with good faith participants. One speaks without interruption, then a voice from the other side responds.

Why are liberals so, there’s no better word for it, cowardly?

I have a lifelong friend, a woman, who remarked to me recently that she admired men with courage, those who would stand up and fight when the situation called for it. Well I admit that I am very late to that game, but I’m committed to the primacy of courage myself, for theologically compelled reasons. Or rather, Grace compelled, though that opens up a mystical realm that shuts a certain type of liberal down.

My courage admiring friend, for instance, does not find the hat that I wear daily, a cotton baseball cap with a Cross composed of three nails, unmistakeable from any social distance, a form of courage Even though I reside in the bluest of blue cities, a city with a large population of ‘agnostic atheist’ as one fellow called himself without irony, a city so adverse to Christians that to be seen with someone wearing an obvious declaration of Christ is socially scarring. That may be the reason my courage admiring friend sometimes sends me on ahead if she’s parking the car, or virtually exhales with relief when I take the offending cap off in restaurants. Thinking of getting her a ‘I’m not with the religious nut’ t-shirt she can slip on over her sweater.

Now this person is a perfect example of what I mean. She has weathered a lifestorm that would destroy weaker wills, has an exceptional intellect, albeit predominantly on the intuitive side of the spectrum, and has up until Trump, displayed by anyone’s measure, an open mind.

Trump broke her. And that tragedy is, it broke her in exactly the way Trump broke every liberal, so the idiosyncrasies that I treasure about my lifelong friend aren’t present in her blue fog. Just a bewildering abandonment of intellectual pride.

The 2026 iteration of Liberals will not engage in good faith conversation. Ever. Even though Trump won the popular vote. Even a slim margin is a majority, dear former believers in small d democracy. But to the blue bubble, those millions of Americans who voted for Trump are, by association, Nazi’s and Fascists. Oh, and Racist, of course. Trump is a raging racist orange nazi and everyone who voted for him is also one by association.

Now, my lifelong friend would have known at some point in the past that Trump’s love for and defense of Israel makes the Nazi tag an Orwellian absurdity. She would have admitted, after review of the videos, that Trump was the king of NY nightlife in the 1980s and that Black celebrities loved him. Music videos, night clubs, Trump was gangsta before it white folks knew what that was. To suddenly portray him as a klansman is pure propaganda, as my friend should recognize.

Maybe the most disheartening aspect of this blue virus, is the wilful rejection of human nature as a thing to be studied and treasured. The left can apparently conceive of two strains of human beings, one, themselves, as fully human and behaving in a way that is beneficial, or at least harmless in all interactions. The other stain of human beings, is to the liberal view, content to slather over their most base impulses, and act as hateful and destructive agents whenever possible.

You know, your average policeman, firefighter, soldier, underwater welder, farmer, electrician, etc etc. If that list conjured a picture of white men, shame on you. Plenty of black and brown men in those groups you dismiss as well. The common feature though, is gender,

Trump won because the left attacked masculinity. To be male was to be born with a toxicity by nature, and to be born a White, straight, male was to be under the microscope, and at the end of the line. My lifelong friend knew this personally as one of her beloved grandsons, a high achiever, was bypassed in medical school applications by lessor qualified by more deeply melanated members of his cohort. A miscarriage of justice rectified, and only once acknowledged in conversation. He’s in med school where he belongs, but she still won’t give credit to the Trump movement. She can’t, she’d be ostracized and she knows it. Still, a little courage, eh?

I did get through once. While regurgitating the same utter nonsense about Gaza and the Isreaeli ‘genocide’ of Palestinans, who have increased in population by eight fold by the inconvenient way, I reminded her of a fact that had somehow fallen into her perview; that Hamas kept civilians out of the bomb tunnels they themselves used to hide in. They left their own mothers, children, elderly outside of the tunnels to die. They were more valued as dead victims in the pr war than as human beings. That’s who Hammas, and all Islamic terrorists are. Somehow, on that day, reality found a foothold in her head. She confessed later that it had really, ‘shaken her up’

Don’t worry liberals, it didn’t take. She’s still one of you.
